Alternate Volts LLC ("Alternate Volts," "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
For questions, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you place an order or use this site, we collect:
- Your email address, name, and any address or phone number you provide at checkout
- The items, quantities, and prices of your order
- Payment information: card and billing details are entered directly into Stripe and never touch our servers. We receive and store only the resulting payment confirmation, the last four digits of the card, the brand, and Stripe's transaction ID.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, used to detect fraud and keep the site running. This data is collected through our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our application logs.
- Cookies: a single session cookie that lets your cart persist between pages. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Our site is not directed to children. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
How we use it
- Process and fulfill your orders
- Send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and arrange pickup or shipping
- Submit apparel orders to our print-on-demand partner for fulfillment, including the shipping address you provide at checkout
- Investigate suspected fraud or chargebacks
- Comply with tax, shipping, and other legal obligations
- Maintain and improve the site
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.
Who we share it with
We share information with the following service providers, each of which is contractually bound to protect it and use it only to perform services for us:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing, fraud screening, and tax calculation
- Printful, Inc. — print-on-demand fulfillment of apparel orders. We share your name, shipping address, email, and apparel line items so they can print and ship the garments.
- Resend — sending transactional email such as order confirmations, shipping notifications, and refund notices
- Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery network, DDoS protection, and DNS
- Backblaze, Inc. — encrypted off-site backup of order records (data is encrypted before it leaves our servers; Backblaze cannot read its contents)
- Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, freight providers) when we or our print-on-demand partner ships a physical order
- Government agencies and law enforcement only when required by law (subpoena, court order, valid legal request)
We do not share your information with any party for advertising or independent marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep order and customer data for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you, plus the longer of (a) seven (7) years to satisfy New York State recordkeeping and tax requirements, or (b) the period required by applicable law. After that we delete it or de-identify it.
Stripe and Printful retain payment and fulfillment records per their own retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your information (subject to our recordkeeping obligations)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
- Opt out of any sale or share of personal information (we do not engage in either)
To make a request, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your order. We will respond within thirty (30) days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the rights listed above plus the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, sold, or shared in the prior twelve (12) months. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the prior twelve months.
You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf with appropriate written authorization.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords using Argon2id with TOTP for the admin panel, parameterized database queries, signed payment and fulfillment webhooks, encrypted off-site backups, rate limiting, and Cloudflare DDoS mitigation. Despite these measures, no system is perfectly secure. If you become aware of a security issue, email [email protected].
Children
Our site and products are not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
