This site is operated by Alternate Volts LLC, a New York limited liability company located in Kings County, New York. References to "we," "us," or "Alternate Volts" mean Alternate Volts LLC. References to "you" mean the person placing an order or using the site.

2. Eligibility (18+)
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By placing an order you represent that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into a binding contract. Orders placed by minors are void.
3. Acceptance of terms
By placing an order, creating an account (where applicable), or using this site, you accept these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, do not order.
4. What we sell — and what we DO NOT sell
Alternate Volts sells:
- Apparel (t-shirts, hoodies, and similar print-on-demand items) fulfilled by our print-on-demand partner.
- Custom builds and parts, offered case by case after direct contact with you.
IMPORTANT — what we DO NOT sell or service:
- We do not sell standalone batteries.
- We do not perform battery repairs
All references on this site or in correspondence to a "build" mean a custom build. A one-off configuration discussed and quoted with you directly before any order is accepted.
5. Contact required for custom builds and parts
Before placing an order for any custom build or part (anything other than apparel), you must contact us at [email protected] to confirm availability, lead time, and pickup or shipping arrangement. Orders placed for non-apparel items without prior contact may be cancelled and refunded at our sole discretion.
6. Products and pricing
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. We make every effort to display product information accurately, but errors can occur. We reserve the right to correct any error, refuse or cancel any order, even after payment is taken, and refund the purchase price in full as our sole obligation in such cases.
7. Sales final / no returns
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges except for items that arrive defective, damaged in transit, or that materially differ from what was advertised. If a defect is present on arrival, contact us at [email protected] within seven (7) days of receipt with photos and a description, and we will work with you in good faith to repair, replace, or refund.
This no-returns policy applies to all parts, apparel, and custom builds. Apparel is print-on-demand and cannot be returned for size, color, or fit unless it arrives defective.
8. Off-road / closed-course use only — applies to all custom builds
Any custom build sold through Alternate Volts is an off-road, closed-course vehicle or component. It is not certified by the U.S. Department of Transportation, does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and is not legal to operate on public roads, streets, or highways in New York or most other U.S. states.
By purchasing or commissioning any custom build, you acknowledge:
- The custom build is for off-road use only on private property or designated closed courses.
- You will not operate the custom build on any public road, street, sidewalk, or in any manner inconsistent with applicable local, state, or federal law.
- You are solely responsible for verifying and complying with the vehicle, registration, helmet, age, and licensing laws of your jurisdiction.
- These custom builds are high-performance machines capable of significant speeds and require an experienced rider, proper protective gear (DOT-approved helmet, eye protection, gloves, body armor at minimum), and appropriate training.
- Riding any motorized vehicle, including any custom build, carries an inherent risk of injury or death. You assume that risk in full.
9. Modifications and warranty
Aftermarket modifications, including but not limited to controller upgrades, suspension changes, and software flashes, void any manufacturer warranty that may apply. Where Alternate Volts has performed or sold a modification or assembled a custom build, that modification or custom build is provided as-is without any warranty beyond what is explicitly stated in the order. Used or pre-owned components are sold as-is with no implied warranties.
10. No battery sales, no battery service
Alternate Volts does not sell standalone batteries and does not perform battery service of any kind, including diagnostics, cell replacement, balancing, BMS work, repair, refurbishment, recelling, or rebuilds. We will not accept a battery for service. Any inquiry to that effect will be declined. Lithium-ion battery service requires specialized equipment, fire-rated facilities, and certifications we do not hold.
11. Manufacturer warranty pass-through
Where applicable, the manufacturer's warranty for new products is passed through to you, the buyer, subject to the manufacturer's terms. Alternate Volts is not the warrantor and does not extend any additional warranty unless explicitly stated in writing for a specific item. Apparel sold through this site is print-on-demand; manufacturing-defect claims are handled with our fulfillment partner per their published policy.
12. Disclaimers
EXCEPT AS EXPLICITLY STATED, ALL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ALTERNATE VOLTS LLC, ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, USE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE PURCHASED THROUGH THIS SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY UNDER OR RELATING TO ANY ORDER, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Alternate Volts LLC and its members, managers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your operation of any custom build or product purchased through this site, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any applicable law, including motor vehicle and traffic laws, or (d) any modification you make to a product or custom build after purchase.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The federal and state courts located in Kings County, New York shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter not subject to arbitration under Section 16.
16. Binding arbitration; class action waiver
Read this carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, your purchase, or any product or service obtained through this site shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Kings County, New York or by remote hearing.
You and Alternate Volts each agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis only. You waive your right to participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] within thirty (30) days of your first purchase, with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your full name and order number.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving the original intent.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. The version in effect on the date of your order applies to that order. Changes apply to orders placed after the change is published.
19. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with any order confirmation and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Alternate Volts LLC regarding your use of the site and your purchase, and supersede any prior agreements.
